Lois Lee (Stelter) Edwards

Lois Lee (Stelter) Edwards, 94 years, 3 months and 19 days departed this life in Calvin, Oklahoma on December 20, 2017. She was born on September 1, 1923 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Henry and Lucille Stelter. And she was born again into the Kingdom of God about 1930. She graduated from Chandler Public School in Texas. After high school, she married her love, Raymond Jackson Edwards on June 6, 1942 in McAlester, Oklahoma. Jack and Lois lived in Oakland, California where she was a lab technician for Stockley Van Camp. Afterwards, the family moved to Fritch, Texas for eight years where Lois served as pastor’s wife in many capacities of the church. They moved to Moore, Oklahoma where she worked as a seed analyst at Oklahoma State Agriculture Department. They retired to their farm in Calvin, Oklahoma in 1978. Lois’ talents included oil painting, bird watching and gourmet cooking. She was highly devoted and loving to her family.
Preceding her in death are her parents and husband Raymond Edwards (2001), siblings Lofton Stelter, Fo. Stelter, Lenora Morrow, and Henry Stelter.
Survivors include her children Jackie Hashemi and husband Jafar of Calvin, Nancy Reed of Norman, and Curtis Edwards and wife Eula of Loganville, Georgia, grandchildren Mitra Evans and husband Colin of Victoria, Canada, Joe Hashemi and wife Angelia of Chesapeake, Virginia, Sam Hashemi and wife Amber of Oklahoma City, Lisa Larner and husband Cliff of Norman, Kent Reed of Midland, Texas, Shelly Jernigan and husband Steve of Suffolk, Virginia, Eden Johnson and husband Justin of Augusta, Georgia, 9 great-grandchildren, sisters Jo Adair of Norman and Louise Berry of Holdenville as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the First Church of God in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Lois’ son, Curtis Edwards will officiate and Pastor Jon Ewers will assist. Pallbearers will be Joe Hashemi, Sam Hashemi, Kent Reed, Steve Jernigan, Cliff Larner, and Wade Berry. Interment will follow at the Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville with grandson Joe Hashemi officiating. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
