William David Douglas

William David Douglas, 68 passed away on October 30, 2017 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was born on December 14, 1948 in Rome, Georgia to Melvin and Bernice (Hancock) Douglas. He graduated from Crossville, Alabama High School. He married Verna Hendrix on September 12, 1981 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He worked for many years as a general contractor. David enjoyed his work and cooking. His hobby was his Hamm radios with his call handles going from Bigfoot to Big Toe and later becoming KD5MEX. He also enjoyed riding motor cycles and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Verna of the home, children Sherry Terrell of Crossville, AL, Holly Parsons of Broken Arrow, Charity Riley and husband Don of Holdenville, Adam Stapp of Holdenville, and Robyn Bates and husband Kevin of Holdenville, grandchildren Dava Terrell, Dylan Terrell, Meagan Holley, Allison Parsons Fuller, Chayne Perkins, Cayden Perkins, Mason Harris, Amos Stapp, Olivia Stapp, William Douglas, Noah Higgins, Aubrey Bates, and one on the way, brother Charles Douglas and wife Brenda of Boaz, AL and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive guest on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 PM on November 4, 2017 at the Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville. Pastor John Roberts will officiate the service. Honorary bearers will be Don Riley, Kevin Bates, Mark Parris, Fayne Lindsey, Steve McDonald and Jim Jett. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville.
