Edward Pete Harjo, 68 passed away in Holdenville, Oklahoma on
October 26, 2017. He was born on October 29, 1948 in Holdenville to Edward and Sissie (Tiger) Harjo. He graduated from Holdenville High School with the Class of 1967. Edward served our country honorably in the United States Army. Private Harjo served during the Vietnam War. Afterwards, he worked for Douglas Aircraft as a Master Machinist from 1975 – 1982. He married Linda Jacobs on November 16, 1999 in Bristow, Oklahoma. The couple loved family and raised several children together. Always the cooking enthusiast, Edward enjoyed exchanging recipes with his niece.
Preceding him in death are his parents, step-son Amos Yahola Jr and granddaughter, Tiffany Yahola.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home, children Mary Harjo and Jarrad Harjo of the home, Tommy Jo Streater of Wewoka, Joseph Yahola of Holdenville, Frank Yahola of Sapulpa, Susie Yahola of the home, Melinda Yahola of Bristow, Minnie Yahola of Wewoka, Terry Yahola of Arizona and Kerry Yahola of Oklahoma City, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, siblings Woodrow
Harjo of Sand Springs, Peggy Thomas and husband Donald of Arkansas, and Donald Harjo of Wewoka as we as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00PM on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home. Online condolences to the family can be made at www.phillipsfuneralservice.com.
