Norean (Beaver) Tiger
March 15, 1937 – August 11, 2017
Norean (Beaver) Tiger was born March 15, 1937 in Yeager, Oklahoma to John Beaver Senior and Nancy Harjo. She graduated from Yeager High School in 1955. She married her high school sweetheart, Kelly Tiger on August 3, 1957 at the Salt Creek United Methodist Church. She and Kelly would make their home in Tulsa where she worked at Sears Roebuck as a sales associate. After their retirement, the couple returned home to Pecan Grove Community.
Norean was a member of the Wewoka Indian Presbyterian Church and enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to Southern Gospel music. Norean served as mother of the church, was ordained elder member of the nominating committee, member of the Holdenville Indian Community, Holdenville Indian Elders. Her favorite song was Herkun Epoyvofv. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Family Feud. She loved her grandchildren. Norean always said she lived a good life.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Kelly Tiger Sr., siblings John Beaver Jr, Wanda Postoak, Eugene Beaver, and Cora Zack.
Norean is survived by her children; Kelly Tiger Jr. of the home Julia Tiger of Tulsa, Kim Tiger of Lawton, and Belinda Buzzard of Catoosa, seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Norean will be taken to the home on Sunday evening, August 13, 2017.

Wake services will be held Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Chapel, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville. Rev. Gerald Haunpo and Rev. Eli McHenry will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Major McHenry, Randy Moore, George Franks, Jason Lightfoot, Marty Dunson and Jeff Fife. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ella Coleman, Claudia Lena, Anna Micco, Pearl Thomas, Ann Marshall, and Danetta Marshall. Interment will follow at the Tiger Family Cemetery in Pecan Grove under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
