Roy married Denise Henning on May 20, 1978 in Oklahoma City. Roy and Denise enjoyed a life of love for over 39 years. Roy and Denise were inseparable in their life adventures. Karen Ruth enjoys telling the story of introducing her friend Denise to Roy Frank. He enjoyed a close friendship with his sister throughout the years.

Roy was a voracious reader and book collector. His collection would rival most local libraries. He had a razor sharp photographic memory that he used to entertain friends and family by quoting movies, books, and TV shows. He was an avid sports fan. He and Denise enjoyed going to ballgames to cheer on the OU teams.

He graduated from Holdenville High School Class of 1969. He was an active member of the HHS Band, Glee Club and Stardusters. He enjoyed trading comic books with his childhood friends.

He graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Roy was the Editor and Creator of the syndicated publication of the satirical magazine “The Evil Eye”. He was the antihero Captain Ortho, who fought eye diseases. Roy owned and operated Crane Eye Care in Seminole for many years. He loved being an optometrist. After being diagnosed as legally blind in grade school, his goal became to help others to see clearly.

He will always be remembered for his kindness and gentleness and wonderful sense of humor. He felt it was his mission in life to take care of as many animals he could.
